~ Merry Meet ~
I am a wife, a lover, a friend, a sister. I cry, I laugh, I rejoice, I feel hurt, pain and despair. I am here to learn, to grow, to expand my horizons. I am there to listen when needed. I am there to guide when the calling comes. But mostly I am me a eclectic solitary wiccan.
I have to say that I am learning still and I feel that no matter what I learn or how old I get I will always be learning.
I have always been Wiccan but I have taken time to study and be a part of other religion, it was a way for me to learn about those other religions and to make sure that Wicca was the right path for me.
You may believe very differently from what I do and that is your right, I dont want anyone to judge me and say that I am wrong in my beliefs, the same way that I would never say that your beliefs are wrong.
I believe that all religions are true for those who believe in them, I may not agree with what is said in another religion but I will never say that religion is bad, wrong, or anything else like that.
The fact is that there is intolerance and hate in just about every religion, you will even find it in this religion.

WICCA (sometimes called Wicce, Witchcraft, The Craft, or The Old Religion by its practitioners) is an ancient religion of love for life and nature. Wicca is easily one of the most irrepressible religions in the world because it stimulates the intellect, promotes a simple, practical way of life and, most importantly, is emotionally satisfying. Our religion celebrates the Wiccan sabbats, which mark the seasons. A Witch, in coven or alone, uses magick and herbs to bend time and matter in order to achieve psychic and spiritual satisfaction.
Witches DO NOT worship the Devil.
Witchcraft predates Christianity and does not incorporate a belief in the Christian Devil.
For the last ten years or so our beliefs in Witchcraft have evolved into a way of life. We celebrate the Wiccan sabbats and esbats. We divine with astrology, tarot and runes. With Wicca we invoke, chant, dance, and rite to the sway and ebb of the wheel of the year. We revere nature and the earth we live on as the biggest priority in our lives and lives to come.
Since long before The Burning Times, Witches have been persecuted and ridiculed.
This thread was designed to stop that attitude.
Witches love...
Witches HARM NONE.

~ Wiccan Rede ~
Bide ye wiccan laws you must, in perfect love and perfect trust. Live ye must and let to live, fairly take and fairly give.
Form the circle thrice about to keep unwelcome spirits out. To bind your spell will every time, let the spell be spoke in rhyme.
Soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little, listen much. Deosil go by the waxing moon, chanting out ye baleful tune.
When ye Lady's moon is new, kiss your hand to her times two. When ye moon rides at her peak, then your heart's desire seek.
Heed the north winds mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail. When the wind comes from the south, love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the wind blows from the east, expect the new and set the feast. When the wind blows from the west, Bardic words be at their best!
Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them fast and burn them slow. Elder be ye Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed ye'll be.
When the wheel begins to turn, soon ye Beltane fires will burn. When the wheel hath turned a Yule, light the log the Horned One rules.
Heed ye flower, bush and tree, by the Lady blessed be. Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth ye'll know.
When ye have and hold a need, harken not to others greed. With a fool no season spend, or be counted as his friend.
Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart. Mind ye threefold law ye should, three times bad and three times good.
When misfortune is enow, wear the star upon thy brow. True in love ye ever be, lest thy love be false to thee.
Bide ye wiccan laws you must, in perfect love and perfect trust. These eight words the rede fulfill;
An it harm none, do what ye will

~ The Wiccan Way ~
Recognizing that there is more than one path to spiritual enlightenment and that Wicca is but one of many, and that Wicca holds within itself the belief that there is more than one type of step set to the spiral dance, find here listed common denominators of the Craft.
That there is above all the Goddess in her three-fold aspect and many are her names. With all her names we call her Maiden, Mother and Crone.
That there is the God, consort and son, giver of strength and partner to the Goddess.
That, and it harm none, do what ye will shall be the law.
That each of her children are bound by the three-fold law and that whatever we create, be it joy or sorrow, laughter or pain, is brought back to us three-fold.
That as she is the mother of all living things and we are all her children, we seek to live in harmony not only with each other, but with the planet earth that is our womb and home.
That life upon the earth is not a burden to be born, but a joy to be learned and shared with others.
That death is not an ending of existence, but a step in the on-going process of life.
That there is no sacrifice of blood, for She is the mother of all living things, and from her all things proceed and unto her all things must return.
That each and everyone of the children who follow this path has no need of another between themselves and the Goddess, but may find Her within themselves.
That there shall not by intent be a desecration of another's symbols of beliefs, for we are all seeking harmony within the One.
That each person's faith is private unto themselves and that another's belief is not to be set out and made public.
That the Wiccan way is not to seek converts, but that the way be made open to those who for reasons of their own seek and find the Craft.
And as it is willed, SO MOTE IT BE!

*scratches head* Wow! How long have you been Wiccan? The only time I tell people about my religion is when they ask. Normally they ask when they realize that I am quite when talking about the Bible or something like that. That or they might see me wear my penagram outside my shirt.

Nearly 31 years ;D if you dont count the times I was studying other religions I to normally only tell people about my religion when and if it pops up in conversation, although there are times when I may bring the subject up if I feel its the right thing to do... For this message board I felt it would be better to just jump right in, firstly to stop any member getting the wrong idea of what wicca is, and to also help those just starting out on the path to understand a little bit about what I believe... Well my husband and I that is... although he doesnt practice the religion like I do.... but at least he does take an interest... I normally dont wear a pentagram around my neck, as I have two pentagram earrings that I wear, so most people will either realise that I am wiccan without me saying anything or they will just think that I have nice earrings ...lol... ;D

31 years? Wow! Longer then my mom! I know for sure she has been Wiccan for as long as I have been alive. I never have really asked her. I know it is weird. I was raised Christian but with the "openess" I guess you can say of Wiccan belief. I think my mom raised us like that so we know about Christian's, however, she let each one of her children decide their own path. My brothers are not really any religion, they do believe in Almighty, but that is it. For me well, different story. Been in it for about 10 year practicing, about 12/13 year studing. My husband is like my brothers but I have shown him somethings that made him stop and think. I am glad to know someone for help when I need it. I know there are alot of people out there that want to learn about Wicca/Paganism and also want to learn the truth about it as well. Best way to overcome fear is to face it!

I've only been on this path for about three and a half years. Some people start practicing straight away, but I think it's best to learn all I can first so I don't make any bad mistakes! Thankyou Faraday for going into that depth, and thankyou SY for your points Blessed be all of you!

LOL
Something like that Mal. Like in life everything has it good times and bad times. It's up and downs! Everything is like this for we can always enjoy the good times when we have them otherwise we would never know when we have them!

heya everybody, as I've told you about three hundred times now, I am also I practising 'wiccan' although I think of it more just using nature around me, than shooting fire balls or anything! I love nature and the forest, is were your most likely to find me. I've been this sort of thing for about three years ( not very long I know, But I haven't been alive for 31 years!! ) But don't like to think that just because I haven't been doing it all that long, that I'm inexperienced (I get that alot) well I hope I can get to know all you lovely people a bit better after this! - Yavanna Firithule

Melea, you reminded me of something when I took a self-defense class what my teacher told me. Something to the effect of it does not matter what color of belt you wear, what matters is how you to use what you have and know. I am a very small girl (I wear size 1 to 3 in pants here just to give you a idea here of how small I am!) and I once was up against a guy who was, let's just say, very big. I was able to beat him. Yet I was a white belt and he was a purple belt! (Purple is higher then white. white is the lowest level!)n All in how you use what you have and know!
